Sharon Hall was born in United Kingdom in 1954. She studied painting at Lanchester Polytechnic, Coventry (BA Hons Fine Art) completing in 1979 and she then went on to the Slade School of Fine Art London where she completed a Higher Diploma in Fine Art (Slade) in 1981.
In 1981,after finishing her postgraduate studies, she lived and worked in Paris with a French Government Scholarship. In 1991 she was awarded a Rome Scholarship in Painting at the British School at Rome, Italy.
In 2024 Hall was the recipient of the Shelagh Cluett Trust Award and spent six weeks at the Alice Boner Institute in Varanasi, India. In 2025, she was awarded an Individual Support Grant by the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation USA.

Hall’s works are held in collections which include Artsite, New York; Barclays Plc, London; Heathrow Airport, London; Norton Rose, London; Prudential Collection, New Jersey, USA. She has work in private collections in Europe, USA and UK.

She is formally Head of Painting at Manchester School of Art and taught painting in various other UK art schools.
In 2026 Hall’s work will be included in Cent’ anni a Roma at the British School at Rome, Italy in 2026 and a two-person exhibition with Laurence Noga, The Shape of Time at Vivienne Roberts Projects, London also in 2026.
