Olivia Streeton
My work explores the uncanny, drawing on memories, dreams and historical narratives. I am interested in the way we instinctively create narratives from images, allowing viewers to bring their own associations and experiences to the work.
Born in London in 1973, Olivia studied at Wimbledon School of Art and Goldsmiths, University of London, where she completed her MFA in 2002. She worked at England & Co Gallery from 1996 to 2005 and has maintained a studio at Kindred Studios since 2015, participating regularly in its Open Studios and exhibitions. Her work is informed by her childhood in China and Japan and explores memories, dreams, history and the uncanny.
