Louisa Longstaff Scales
Oak Tray Frame
Her quietly autobiographical paintings are hopeful acts that explore what it means to be part of the transitory. She builds and wipes back layers of paint, bringing earlier marks to the surface and disrupting how you can read the passage of time within the painting.
Louisa Longstaff-Scales studied Fine Art Painting at Winchester School of Art. Her work has been exhibited widely, including with the Royal Society of British Artists and at the Royal Academy, and is held in private collections internationally. In 2026 she was shortlisted for the Jackson’s Art Prize.
