My paintings begin with a dream or memory, combined with images and ideas gathered from photographs, films, nature and art history. Through the process of painting, these elements merge with abstract and figurative forms, creating an unpredictable space between the real and the imagined.
My work explores the uncanny, drawing on memories, dreams and historical narratives. I am interested in the way we instinctively create narratives from images, allowing viewers to bring their own associations and experiences to the work.
