These smaller-than-usual works explore how colour and material can suggest a feeling within a more intimate format. They have a pronounced material presence, becoming objects as much as images. I’ve used marble dust and a textured linen.
The compression of colour, space and form brings an intimacy to the work, alongside a sense of playfulness and humour. Forms and patterns shift the palette across the surface. Gamboge, a new colour for me, introduces a warmth that is offset by the colours around it.
