Artworks
Tahira is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores visibility, vulnerability and the relationship between inner and outer selves. Through painting, photography and weaving, she examines personal and everyday experience, including the absence of the father and the emotional complexities of loss, identity and belonging. Her recent photographic works introduce herself as subject, incorporating handwoven, cloak-like textiles that suggest a self concealed, emerging or existing beyond the visible. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and Wimbledon School of Art and was selected for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2017.
