Phill Hopkins (b.1961) is a British artist whose multidisciplinary practice centres on painting, alongside drawing, photography and sculpture. His diverse use of media is underpinned by a coherent and rigorous approach to making. Born into a working-class family in Bristol, Hopkins discovered contemporary art as a teenager through a visit to the Arnolfini, before studying at Goldsmiths College of Art in London. His work has been exhibited extensively in museums and galleries in the UK and internationally, including Kettle’s Yard, the Imperial War Museum, the Whitworth Art Gallery, Leeds Art Gallery, the Hepworth Wakefield and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art. His work is held in private collections across the UK, Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and China.
