Hannah Luxton (b.1986) completed an MA at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, in 2012 and a BA at Kingston University in 2009. In 2022 she was elected to The London Group, the prestigious artists’ collective founded in 1913. She is Director and curator of Glass Cloud Gallery, London.
Residencies and research expeditions into remote landscapes have played an important role in the development of Luxton’s practice. She has undertaken research in Iceland, including the Fljotstunga Travel Farm Residency in 2015, and in Switzerland, where she was awarded the Trelex Residency in 2013. In 2018 she returned to northern Iceland for an extended research trip, followed in 2019 by a three-month journey through Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and southern California.
Luxton has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. Recent exhibitions include Vivienne Roberts Projects (2026), the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair (2025), the Young Masters Art Prize (2023) and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2021, 2022). Her work has also been recognised by the East London Printmakers Prize, the Arts Council England, the Contemporary British Painting Prize and the Dentons Art Prize.
Her paintings are held in private and institutional collections in the UK, Iceland, USA and Australia, including Kings College Hospital, London, and the Tinie & De Hann collection.
