Artworks
Laura White (b.1968) is a London-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses sculpture, drawing, photography, writing and fieldwork. Her work focuses on process and the ways in which objects come into being, exploring the physical and social properties of materials from ceramics and concrete to clay, silicone, bread dough and rusting metal. She allows materials to lead the process, embracing their resistance, unpredictability, mistakes and failures as opportunities for new directions. White has exhibited widely, including at Saatchi Gallery, Museum of Royal Worcester, Viborg Kunsthal and Vivienne Roberts Projects, and has undertaken public commissions including Meadow Arts’ Hereford Public Art Trail. She holds a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from Loughborough University and an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths.
