Xingxin Hu (b. 1988, Hunan, China) is a visual artist living and working between London and Beijing. She studied law at the Communication University of China before completing an MA in Fine Art: Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, UAL, in 2023. Working primarily with painting and drawing on personal and second-hand archives, Hu explores femininity, memory, identity and the psychological complexities of everyday life. Through depictions of the female body and familiar domestic objects, she creates intimate yet emotionally charged spaces where desire, alienation, social conditioning, gender and power converge. Hu has exhibited widely in the UK and China, with solo exhibitions including Extra Brut at Peter Von Kant, London, and The South at Too Small Space, Beijing, and selected group exhibitions at The Tagli, Transition Gallery, YTHART Museum, Shanghai, Studio West Gallery and Vivienne Roberts Projects, London. In 2024 she was shortlisted for The Tagli Mentorship Award.
