Anna van Oosterom studied Literature and Social Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam before training in Interior Design in Eindhoven. Her linear collages transform photographic fragments of urban life through transfer, scouring, coloured paper, paint and pastel, creating layered, dreamlike compositions in which recognisable spaces become uncertain and poetic. Drawing on observations of city life, fleeting encounters and overheard conversations, her work explores memory, perception and the anonymous rhythms of urban existence. Van Oosterom has exhibited internationally in London, New York and The Hague, and has shown with Vivienne Roberts Projects since 2023, including a two-person exhibition with Mary Norden in 2024.
