Artworks
Olivia Streeton (b.1973) is a London-based artist whose paintings draw on dreams, memory, found imagery and the natural world. Her images emerge through an intuitive process in which disparate visual sources, including family archives, film, art history, nature and old photographs, are combined with chance and abstraction. The resulting paintings occupy an intriguing space between the real and imagined, the familiar and uncanny, inviting the viewer to form their own associations and narratives. Born in London to Australian parents, Streeton spent her childhood in Hong Kong and Japan, an experience that has informed her enduring interest in otherness, magic realism and the intersection of natural and supernatural worlds. She studied at Wimbledon College of Art and Goldsmiths, University of London. Since 2015 she has been based at Kindred Studios in West London, where she regularly participates in exhibitions and Open Studios. Her work is held in private collections internationally and has been commissioned for collections and projects in the UK, Australia and France.
