Henry Ward (b.1971) is a London-based artist, teacher, writer and curator whose practice centres on painting and drawing. He studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art, followed by a PGCE at Goldsmiths and a PhD at Middlesex University. In early 2023, he was Artist in Residence at The Albers Foundation in Connecticut, USA. Ward is Director of the Freelands Foundation and has served as an advisor to the Martin Gropius Bau, Berlin. His work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, including at Flowers Gallery, Drawing Room, The New Art Gallery Walsall, Hastings Contemporary and Wells Cathedral, as well as with Vivienne Roberts Projects, where he presented the solo exhibition Dumb Ritual in 2025. Monographs on his work include Shed Paintings (Hato Press, 2021) and Bethany (Anomie Publications, 2025).
