Artworks
Steve Sheasby is a London-based artist and conservator who studied at the Royal College of Art. Alongside a career spanning more than three decades in the conservation of historic objects and works of art, he has developed a studio practice centred on assemblage and collage. Drawing upon found photographs, printed ephemera, and salvaged objects, his work explores the shifting relationships between memory, history, material culture, and visual association. Informed by an intimate knowledge of surface, material, and the passage of time, Sheasby's compositions bring together disparate elements to create poetic and open-ended narratives that invite close attention and interpretation.
Steven Sheasby, senior gilding conservator for the Royal Collection, has been awarded Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) in the 2023 New Year Honours.
